How do I set my availability as a mentor?
Your availability is what mentees book against, so keeping it current is the single biggest thing you can do to get sessions on the calendar.
How to set your availability
- Go to Settings → Courses.
- Add the session time slots you want to offer each week.
- Save. Mentees can now request any open slot.
Mentees can only book during the slots you have open here, so the more accurate this is, the fewer back-and-forth reschedules you deal with.
Tips for managing your slots
- Start small. Open a few slots per week and add more once you get a feel for the demand.
- Leave buffer time. Put gaps between slots so you are not running sessions back to back.
- Keep it honest. Only open times you can actually make. A no-show on your side hurts your reviews.
Sync your calendar so busy times block automatically
You do not have to manually clear slots every time something comes up. Connect Google or Outlook and your existing meetings will block those times from being booked, plus accepted sessions get added to your calendar automatically. See how to sync your calendar for the steps.
Taking a break
If you need to step away, whether you are overloaded at work, heading on vacation, or shifting your schedule, you can pause new bookings without removing your profile. There is no single pause toggle. Go back to Settings → Courses and click off all your session time slots. Your profile still shows up in search results, but there is nothing open to book, so new requests stop right away.
- Short break (a few days to a few weeks): clear your slots and turn them back on when you are ready.
- Existing bookings: already-scheduled sessions still happen. Clearing your slots only blocks new requests.
- Longer hiatus: consider adding a short note to your intro section explaining the pause, so prospective mentees are not left guessing.
This does not affect your mentor ranking. Rank is based on cumulative reviews, not recent activity, so you will not lose your tier by taking time off.
