Growth Mentor Rankings
Mentor rankings reward mentors for consistent helpfulness, measured by completed-and-reviewed sessions. The tiers are named after champagne bottle sizes, because celebrating helping is on-brand.
The five tiers
- Newbie: 0 to 9 reviews. New mentors start here. Sessions are free until a mentor earns 3 reviews. After that, a mentor may set a rate (capped at $100/hr until they reach 10 reviews).
- Magnum: 10 to 24 reviews. Eligible to charge above $100/hr.
- Balthazar: 25 to 49 reviews. Higher visibility, prioritized in search.
- Nebuchadnezzar: 50 to 99 reviews. Serious contributor status, eligible for featured placements.
- Midas: 100+ reviews. Elite tier. Deep expertise, top profile visibility, and an invite to the annual Midas Trip. See the Midas Trip for what that means.
How reviews count
Only completed sessions with a mentee-left review count toward your rank. No-shows, cancellations, and sessions without reviews don't affect the tier. This encourages mentors to prompt mentees to leave thoughtful reviews after great calls.
Why rankings matter
- Search visibility. Higher-ranked mentors rank higher in browse and AI-matching results by default.
- Rate unlocks. Mentors can't charge until they reach 3 reviews (the give-first rule). They can set a rate up to $100/hr from there, and only mentors with 10+ reviews may charge above $100/hr. When a mentor does charge, the fee goes directly to them: GrowthMentor takes no commission.
- Featured opportunities. Top mentors are invited to workshops, events, and other opportunities.
- Reputation signal. Mentor profiles rank well on Google, so a visible Midas badge is a meaningful public credential.
