Ask your calls a question
“What did my mentors tell me about pricing?”
The answer in the mentors' own words, from the notes of each call where pricing came up.
list_calls · get_calls
The GrowthMentor MCP server. Claude Code, Codex and Cursor read the notes and transcripts of your own calls, find a mentor and book a free call for you. One token, eight tools.

Each one is a thing you say to your AI tool. The tool picks the actions.
“What did my mentors tell me about pricing?”
The answer in the mentors' own words, from the notes of each call where pricing came up.
list_calls · get_calls
“Read my last three calls and write the next steps as one checklist for this week.”
One list, with the mentor and the call next to each step.
list_calls · get_calls
“Open my call with Lynn and quote every place she talked about backlinks.”
The quotes, with the time in the call, from the full transcript.
list_calls · get_transcript
“I talk to Claire tomorrow. What did I already try, and which questions are still open?”
A short brief: what was tried, what was advised, what no call has answered yet.
list_upcoming_sessions · get_calls
“Our trial users sign up and never come back. Find me three mentors and their open times this week.”
Three mentors with the call topics that matched your need, their rating and the times you can pick.
match_mentors · get_availability
“Book 30 minutes with Lynn on Thursday at 10:00. Topic: link building for a new domain.”
Your AI tool shows you the request and asks for a yes. The mentor gets it like a request from the website.
get_availability · request_session
“I am rebuilding the onboarding emails. What did my mentors say about onboarding?”
The advice you already got, before you build the thing a mentor told you to skip.
list_calls · get_calls
“Which calls do I have coming up?”
Each requested and upcoming call with the date in your time zone and the session page.

Step 1
Make a token
Go to Settings, Account, AI tools , name the token after the tool and the machine, and copy it. The page shows it one time. Members on a paid plan and mentors with a complete profile can make a token.
Step 2
Add the server to your AI tool
Claude Code
One command in your terminal.
Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http growthmentor https://www.growthmentor.com/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer gm_mcp_YOUR_TOKEN"
Codex
Two steps: the server in the config file, the token in your shell. Restart Codex after both.
Add to ~/.codex/config.toml
[mcp_servers.growthmentor] url = "https://www.growthmentor.com/mcp" bearer_token_env_var = "GM_MCP_TOKEN"
Add to your shell profile (~/.zshrc or ~/.bashrc)
export GM_MCP_TOKEN="gm_mcp_YOUR_TOKEN"
Cursor
Add the server to your mcp.json. If the file has other servers, add only the growthmentor entry inside mcpServers.
mcp.json
{
"mcpServers": {
"growthmentor": {
"url": "https://www.growthmentor.com/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer gm_mcp_YOUR_TOKEN" }
}
}
}Step 3
Ask
Start with the calls: “What did my mentors tell me about pricing?”. Your tool lists your calls, reads the notes and answers with the mentor's words.
This reference comes from the server itself. Six tools read. One writes, and your AI tool asks you before it runs.
List your calls
List the member's recorded mentor calls, newest first: date, mentor, the member's question and the call_id. Start here.
No input.
Say: “What calls have I had this year, and with whom?”
Read the notes of your calls
Read the notes of 1 to 10 calls: what the member came in with, what they took away, next steps and best moments. No transcript. Use the call_id values from list_calls.
| Input | Type | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| call_ids * | array | One to ten call_id values from list_calls |
Say: “Read my last three calls and list every next step my mentors gave me.”
Read a call transcript
Read the full transcript of one call, with speaker names and times. It is long. Use it when the notes from get_calls lack the detail, or when you need the exact words.
| Input | Type | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| call_id * | integer | One call_id from list_calls |
Say: “Give me the transcript of my call with Lynn and pull out every number she said.”
Match mentors to a need
Find the free mentors who fit a need the member describes in plain words, for example "I run a two-person B2B SaaS and trial users do not activate". Matches by meaning on what mentors did on their calls and on their profiles. Returns up to 5 mentors with the mentor_id the other tools take and the call topics that matched. For a mentor's name or one skill, use search_mentors.
| Input | Type | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| need * | string | The member's need or situation, in one or two sentences |
Say: “I run a two-person B2B SaaS and trial users do not activate. Who can help?”
Find mentors
Search the GrowthMentor mentors by topic, skill, tool, industry or name. Returns up to 8 mentors with the mentor_id the other tools take. Free mentors only, unless include_paid is true. Use plain words, for example "SEO for a B2B SaaS" or "pricing".
| Input | Type | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| query * | string | What the member needs help with, or a mentor's name |
| include_paid | boolean | Also list mentors who charge for calls. Default false. |
Say: “Find me a free mentor for SEO.”
Open times of a mentor
The open call times of one mentor over the next days, in the member's own time zone. Use the mentor_id from search_mentors. Pick one time with the member and pass it to request_session as starts_at.
| Input | Type | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| mentor_id * | string | The mentor_id from search_mentors |
| from | string | First day to look at, YYYY-MM-DD. Default: today. |
| days | integer | How many days from that day. Default 14. |
| duration | integer | Call length in minutes, one the mentor offers. Default: the mentor's shortest. |
Say: “When is Lynn Patchett free next week for 30 minutes?”
Request a free call
Request a free 1:1 call with a mentor at one of the open times from get_availability. The mentor gets the request and accepts or declines. Free mentors only. Show the member the mentor, the time, the headline and the message, and get a yes, before you call this.
| Input | Type | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| mentor_id * | string | The mentor_id from search_mentors |
| starts_at * | string | A start time from get_availability, in the member's time zone ("2026-10-20 10:00") or ISO 8601 with an offset. |
| duration | integer | Call length in minutes, one the mentor offers. Default: the mentor's shortest. |
| headline * | string | The topic of the call in one line, as the mentor sees it. |
| message * | string | What the member wants to cover and the context the mentor needs, in the member's words. 100 to 1500 characters. |
| desired_outcome | string | What the member wants to walk away with. Optional. |
Say: “Book Lynn for Thursday at 10:00. Topic: link building for a new domain.”
Your requested and upcoming calls
The member's calls that are requested, rescheduled or scheduled and not held yet, soonest first: date, mentor, topic, status and the session page. Check this before request_session.
No input.
Say: “Which calls do I have coming up?”
* required
A server your AI tool connects to with one token. It gives the tool eight actions on your own GrowthMentor account: your call notes, your transcripts, mentor matching, mentor search, open times, a session request and your upcoming calls. It uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP) over Streamable HTTP at https://www.growthmentor.com/mcp.
Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, with the setup on this page. Any MCP client that speaks Streamable HTTP and sends a bearer token works the same way.
Only your own recorded calls as a mentee. A token reads nothing of another member, and a mentor cannot read a call through their own token.
Members with a paid plan and mentors with a complete profile, on the AI tools page under Settings, Account. On a free account the page shows what the tools do and how to upgrade.
No. The request_session tool is marked as a write action, so Claude Code, Codex and Cursor ask you before they run it. The request then follows the same rules as the website: the mentor's notice, no overlap with your calendar, and the cap on open requests.
No. The tool requests free calls only. For a mentor with a price, it gives you the link to the mentor's page on the website.
Settings, Account, AI tools, then Revoke next to the token. The tool loses access at once. GrowthMentor stores a hash of the token, not the token, so nobody can read it back.
Yes. Sixty requests a minute for each member, across all their tokens. A question across several calls takes about five requests.
Not yet. The MCP server is the first developer surface of GrowthMentor. A public API comes when members ask for it.
Not yet. The chat apps connect through OAuth, which the server does not speak today. The coding tools connect with a token and work now.
