I spend most of my day in Claude Code now. Every time I needed a mentor, or something a mentor once told me, I had to leave it: open GrowthMentor, search, open profiles, check times, write the request.
Now I stay where I am and ask.
What it is
An MCP server. One token connects your GrowthMentor account to Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, and you set it up once. Then this happens every time you ask:
You ask in your AI tool
> Who can help with SEO?
It checks GrowthMentor
- Your call notes
- Mentors and their open times
- Your upcoming calls
Connected with one token
You get the answer
- Advice from your own calls
- Free mentors who fit, with open times
- A call request, sent only after your yes
The mentors are people, and the calls are your own. It only reads your own recorded calls. It never sends a call request without your yes. And you can switch it off any time in Settings.
Ask what your mentors told you
Four lines from my October, typed into Claude Code. The answers are the real ones from my own account, shortened.
1. Get your advice back
In October I was working out how mentors should charge for paid work. Three mentors had already told me something about it.
> What did my mentors tell me about pricing?
● growthmentor · list_calls, get_calls
Three calls touched pricing:
- Pierrick L’Ebraly, 12 Oct: charge for the calls that aren’t fun, like tactics-only work, and keep the enjoyable ones free.
- Miranda Gowlland, 7 Oct: hourly billing doesn’t fit advisory work. Look at blocks of time instead.
- Daniil Kopilevych, 6 Oct: sell paid work as sprints with one clear deliverable, and never let mentors pitch during a call.
> What exactly did Pierrick say?
● growthmentor · get_transcript
From your call on 12 Oct:
[12:23] “If it’s fun for me, it’s free.”
[12:26] “If it’s not fun for me, you pay.”
[17:12] “I’ll do product road map sessions for free every day all day.”
2. Turn your calls into a to-do list
Those calls ended with next steps. Then the week started.
> Turn my calls from the last two weeks into one checklist.
● growthmentor · list_calls, get_calls
- ☐ Add an approval step for service packages before they go live (Miranda, 7 Oct)
- ☐ Let mentors offer new times when they decline a call (Pierrick, 12 Oct)
- ☐ Notify members when a mentor they follow goes live (Parikshit, 14 Oct)
- ☐ Teach mentors how to present their paid services (Parikshit, 14 Oct)
3. Prepare for your next call
Before I talk to Pierrick again, I want to start where we stopped.
> I’m talking to Pierrick again. What did we cover, and what’s still open?
● growthmentor · get_calls
Your last call, 12 Oct:
- You showed him advisory boards, the gigs marketplace and AI Q&A profiles.
- He backed the Q&A profiles and the gigs marketplace.
- Still open: advisory boards need experts beyond marketing and growth. He asked to see usage data before you decide.
4. Check before you build
When I work on mentor onboarding, I check what mentors already told me before I build.
> I’m rebuilding mentor onboarding. What did my mentors say about it?
● growthmentor · list_calls, get_calls
- Miranda Gowlland, 7 Oct: after 9 calls she still found features by accident, and didn’t know the mentor Slack existed. She asked for clearer onboarding.
- Parikshit Joshi, 14 Oct: mentors will sell their services in very different ways. Teach them how, with content mentors help write.
How to get started
Make a token
Go to Settings, Account, AI tools and make a token.
Add it to your AI tool
Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. The page gives you the setup to copy.
Describe what you’re stuck on
Or start with way 1: “What did my mentors tell me about pricing?”
It’s open to members on a paid plan and to mentors. The ChatGPT and Claude chat apps don’t connect yet. The full setup is on growthmentor.com/developers/mcp.
Every call on GrowthMentor leaves a record of what a working operator told you about your business. Now that record answers you in the tool you already have open. Get your token and ask what your last mentor said.
