Which workflow should AI take first?
Most teams start with a tool and look for a use for it. Start instead with work that repeats every week: account research, first drafts of outreach, call notes or the Monday report.
Bring one workflow, who owns it and the hours it takes now. A mentor can help you judge whether AI can do it to your standard, or whether a person is still cheaper.
Clay, Claude Code or the stack you already pay for?
The tool decides who can run the workflow and who fixes it when it breaks:
- Clay. Quick to start for enrichment and research tables. Credits add up at volume, so price it against the leads you need.
- Claude Code or another coding agent. Cheaper to change and run once it works. Someone on the team has to read, test and maintain it.
- Zapier, Make or n8n. Good for moving data between tools on a trigger. Long chains need an owner who checks them.
- AI features in your CRM. HubSpot and Salesforce now ship their own. Try them first when the data already lives there.
Keep AI outreach from reading like AI
Buyers now get AI-written messages every day and spot the pattern in a line. A common fix: AI does the research and finds the signal, and a person writes or edits the line that matters.
Decide what a person always checks before it goes out, such as positive replies, pricing and anything posted under a real name. Bring two sent messages and their reply rates to the call.
How will we know it worked?
Write down the baseline before you switch anything on: hours spent, cost per lead, reply rate or pipeline from the channel. Count tool and token bills too, because an agent left running can cost more than the work it replaces.
Then name an owner and agree what the team stops doing. The mentors above include AI GTM founders, a VP of Marketing whose team runs on agents, Clay and RevOps specialists and growth leads who test for lift.

Before you join
What people ask before their first call.
It depends on who will run and fix it. Clay is quicker to set up and easier to hand to a team. Code costs less per lead once it works, but someone has to maintain it. Bring your volume and current costs.
List what the hire would do in a typical week. Research, first drafts and reporting can often move to AI with a person reviewing. Customer calls, judgment and ownership still need people. A mentor who runs a small team on AI can test your list.
Often, yes, when every message follows the same template. Use AI for research and personal signals, and have a person edit the opening line and the ask. If a prospect asks, tell the truth.
Set a monthly cap on each tool and agent, and check usage weekly for the first month. Compare the bill with the hours saved. Some tasks cost more to run with AI than to pay a person to do.
One workflow, who owns it, what it costs in hours or money now and the result you want. Add a redacted example of the input and the output, and a list of the tools involved.
The session is for advice and review. Building workflows, integrations or ongoing team training needs a separate agreement with the mentor; explain the help you need in your request.
