Alexander Zlatkov

Founder/CEO

I’m an entrepreneur with an engineering background. I have built products, raised venture capital, scaled teams, pivoted, developed & executed creative GTM strategies, and led M&A processes.

Describe yourself

Tech founder, CEO, and startup mentor with hands-on experience in building and scaling venture-backed companies. I’ve been helping fellow entrepreneurs for quite some time now and have been receiving very positive feedback, so I thought that it might be a good idea to continue doing it.

In just one sentence, why do you want to become a growth mentor?

My experience in coding initial product, raising VC capital, developing & executing GTM strategies, pivoting, scaling & mentoring teams, going through M&A processes with NASDAQ and unicorn companies can help founders at every stage of their journey.

In your words, what does a growth mindset mean to you?

Designing goals that are “moonshot” targets, that seem unachievable, but regardless, breaking them into smaller and digestible steps, and thinking why can’t we actually achieve it?

If you could mentor a startup on one topic, what would it be?

Deciding when to pivot

Describe an out-of-the-box solution to a complex problem that made you proud of yourself.

Describe yourself

I have 9+ years of Product & User Research experience, and grew from a Researcher to a Lead Product Manager. Last year, I co-founded my own company, and now I help other teams grow their products by working with retention and monetization.

In just one sentence, why do you want to become a growth mentor?

I am a textbook self-starter who learned everything from practice, so now I want to make this path easier for others.

In your words, what does a growth mindset mean to you?

To me, growth is constant learning. It’s not enough to experiment, brainstorm ideas, and be proactive. You must actually learn from good and bad, always asking why something happened and why you got these results, because this is the only way to know your product inside and out.

If you could mentor a startup on one topic, what would it be?

I would help people get quality insights to improve their revenue through better retention.

Describe an out-of-the-box solution to a complex problem that made you proud of yourself.

  1. Learn as much context as I can from the team
  2. Establish the goal
  3. Look at the data and form a hypothesis
  4. Validate with qualitative research
  5. Check the ideas not only from the business perspective but from the user and market perspective as well.

Head of Product Growth scaling revenue for B2B SaaS with PLG models. At RD Station, I lead the PLG tribe, driving acquisition, activation, retention, and revenue across marketing automation, CRM, and conversational platforms. I also mentor individuals and companies on growth and PLG strategies.

Describe yourself

I’m a Product Growth enthusiast with 15 years of hands-on experience—embracing failures, gaining deep insights, and driving impactful success in hyper-growth organizations like RD Station, BOSCH, IBM, and Softplan. I’m passionate about empowering founders and growth teams by sharing actionable insights and proven strategies to overcome their toughest challenges and unlock scalable, sustainable growth. With extensive expertise in Product-Led Growth strategies, I specialize in driving acquisition, retention, and expansion, helping businesses achieve measurable results and long-term success.

In just one sentence, why do you want to become a growth mentor?

With 16 years of experience, becoming a mentor would not only fulfill me financially and personally but also allow me to provide valuable shortcuts and guidance to founders and growth professionals who may be navigating challenges I’m uniquely equipped to address.

In your words, what does a growth mindset mean to you?

To me, a growth mindset means embracing (and even loving) challenges as chances to learn, knowing that failure and mistakes are a natural part of the journey. It’s about believing that with the right skills, a clear long-term vision, hard work, and a strong team, success is possible — even if it takes time. Ultimately, it also means loving the process of reaching milestones and delivering real results, while celebrating progress along the way. In the end, it’s about staying curious, motivated, and positive when things get tough. True growth comes from accepting the messy process, learning from it, and turning those lessons into wins.

If you could mentor a startup on one topic, what would it be?

How to turn your product into the main ladder for acquisition, expansion, and retention using Product-Led Growth strategies.

Describe an out-of-the-box solution to a complex problem that made you proud of yourself.

I believe the process starts with clearly defining the issue and understanding the context. I prefer using structured frameworks like the 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams to dig deeper, but my primary focus is on approaching the problem systematically. I aim to minimize guesswork and rely on concrete data and evidence, ensuring that solutions are grounded in objective insights rather than overly qualitative information. This method allows me to uncover the root cause and address it with precision and confidence. Transparency and trust are also key to fostering open conversations.

Growth Marketer | Marketplaces | SEO

For 8 years I lead growth at Europe's largest musician-booking marketplace. Taking it from the early days of scrappy non-scalable growth activities (think: running around music colleges with nothing other my laptop, an MVP and a pitch!) to leading a 5-person multi-channel team and a £50k+ monthly spend

Describe yourself

Hi, my name’s Jonny. I was employee #1 at Europe’s largest musician-booking marketplace, Encore Musicians. There I was, Head of Growth for 8 years, taking it from pre-revenue to £ 11 million annual GMV. I set up and ran paid ads (Meta and Google) profitably with a budget of £50k per month, and took our SEO from not ranking on Google to #1 ranks for our key search terms. I specialise in marketplace dynamics, channel prioritisation, analytics, finding PMF, and early-stage startup strategy.

In just one sentence, why do you want to become a growth mentor?

Having benefited from growth mentors myself, I want to give back to the community and help others out there looking for advice.

In your words, what does a growth mindset mean to you?

Having a growth mindset to me means being simultaneously an optimist and a realist. Optimistic enough to be curious and creative in experimenting with new sources of growth, but realistic enough to check that your assumptions about that source of growth are correct.

I see “growth mindset” being just as well applied to your approach to life as to building a company.

If you could mentor a startup on one topic, what would it be?

Early-stage marketing team structure and management

Describe an out-of-the-box solution to a complex problem that made you proud of yourself.

Finding the root cause of a problem is fundamentally a fact-finding mission. I would begin by gathering the likely hypotheses from people closest to the problem, and then test each hypothesis by looking at data where possible.

E.g., a drop-off in lead conversion rate in a particular month might have a number of root causes: the CEO suspects the sales team hasn’t been as productive, the sales team thinks the leads are poor quality, you’ve noticed some growth people in your network complaining of potential seasonality issues. I would aim to put initial assumptions and biases to one side, and confirm or discard these ideas based on the data.

In just one sentence, why do you want to become a growth mentor?

I want to become a Growth Mentor to share my expertise in AI-driven product strategy, security, and fintech, helping aspiring founders and product managers navigate challenges, scale their products, and make data-driven decisions for sustainable growth.

In your words, what does a growth mindset mean to you?

To me, a growth mindset is the belief that skills, knowledge, and success are built through continuous learning, experimentation, and resilience. It’s about embracing challenges as opportunities, seeing failures as valuable lessons, and staying adaptable in an ever-evolving world. Whether in product management, AI, or personal development, I believe real growth happens when we push beyond our comfort zones, seek feedback, and remain curious.

If you could mentor a startup on one topic, what would it be?

I would love to mentor on scaling AI-driven security products—from ideation to enterprise adoption. Having led AI-powered security, fintech, and observability solutions, I love helping others navigate the complexities of productizing AI, making data-driven decisions, and driving real business impact.

Describe an out-of-the-box solution to a complex problem that made you proud of yourself.

My approach to pinpointing the root cause of a problem starts with asking the right questions and breaking the issue down systematically. I follow a mix of the 5 Whys technique and data-driven analysis to separate symptoms from underlying causes. I start by gathering context—understanding user pain points, reviewing data patterns, and seeking input from key stakeholders. Then, I test hypotheses by identifying trends, anomalies, or dependencies that could be driving the issue. Finally, I validate findings through rapid experimentation, ensuring that the root cause is addressed, not just the surface-level symptoms.

Growth Marketing | UA (Meta, Google, Tiktok, Applovin) | Ad Mon |ASO | Creative strategy | 10+ years in Gaming

Hey I'm Stuart and I am Marketing and Growth expert with 10+ years experience. I have worked on many marketing topics over the years including but not limited to: - User Acquistion (Paid Social, In App Ads, Display) - Attribution & Tracking - Ad Monetisation - ASO & LPO - Creative Strategy

Describe yourself

Hi, my name is Stuart, I have worked in Growth marketing for the last 10 years with a focus on User Acquisition and Ad monetisation. My favourite projects to work on over the years have always included some level of creativity and data analysis, from ideating new creative strategies based on player insights through to optimising game onboardings to better align with UA efforts. I believe the only way to stay ahead of your competition is to ensure you have the best collaboration with your product team and remember both marketing/growth and product want the same thing to achieve PMF and to grow profitably.

In just one sentence, why do you want to become a growth mentor?

I have always enjoyed mentoring fellow colleagues during my career and would like to expand this beyond those that I just work with. Given my long experience in gaming, I am also interested in utilising my knowledge and expertise to assist others in other industries as a way to learn more myself.

In your words, what does a growth mindset mean to you?

In my opinion, the growth mindset means to constantly strive for improvement on all fronts, from marketing through to product. Growth is sometimes seen as a pure marketing-driven topic, but it doesnt matter how amazing your marketing campaigns are if you are driving users/players/customers into a leaky bucket; you will never see real incremental growth. It is imperative to avoid the mindset that this is always how we have done things or not to fix what isn’t broken, as this is the number approach to take if you want to fall behind your competition.

If you could mentor a startup on one topic, what would it be?

Growth strategy/Marketing as it focuses on identifying where you are losing your customers and fixing these issues, enabling you to grow profitably, before you just try to fix everything by throwing money at the problem, before fully understanding the underlying cause.

Describe an out-of-the-box solution to a complex problem that made you proud of yourself.

Pinpointing the root cause of a problem can seem complicated, when in reality it is simply a case of both quantitative and qualitative data analysis. Let’s take an example of missing data for your marketing campaign or a sudden drop in performance. First, you need to investigate the data source where this issue was identified. You need to analyse the full funnel of data to ensure you find the source of the problem and when it started. In the case of a data inconsistency with your marketing campaign, you should then try to figure out if this is an isolated incident or if multiple campaigns or partners are affected. You then also need to cross-reference your data across all data sources to ensure they all match up, and if they don’t, then you need to follow up where the data does not match to see if there was a tracking issue or data ingestion problem. If data matches across all sources, then it’s time to review any and all changes made around the time the problem first occurred (new creatives, bid adjustments, etc.). If you find nothing here, the next step is to reach out to your marketing partner and see if there were any changes on their side.

In essence, the best way to find the root cause of a problem is to have a systemised approach of checks and balances to best pinpoint where and when the issue has arisen, and this can be done for anything data inconsistencies, dropping performance, and poor customer reviews.

Describe yourself

Marketing leader with 18 years of global experience across SAAS scale-ups, Big Tech, and FMCG. I honed marketing & sales fundamentals at Colgate-Palmolive, then found my passion in Tech: growing Google’s global ads & SMB publishing business, and Enterprise deals in a SAAS start-up incubated by Facebook.

After a decade in Big Tech, I joined the leadership team at Triptease, a B2B SAAS scale-up serving Hotels, just two months before Covid hit. Over the next four and a half years, I played a key role in helping the business not only survive Covid, but also double its revenue in three years, crossing $XXM ARR.

AI/ML Product Lead with 10 years of hands on experience building AI products at global scale

AI/ML Product Lead with 10 years of experience in global B2C companies | Love all things Data and AI Product Strategy

Describe yourself

I am Varsha, and I have been building data and AI products at companies like Trivago, Delivery Hero, and Grammarly as a product manager for a decade now. I love coaching and mentoring folks in the tech space, and advising companies on their product and business strategy, especially when it comes to data/ML/AI topics.

I am also an ICF-certified executive coach, and I love working with senior tech professionals on topics like leadership development, leap into entrepreneurship, and aligning their careers with their passion.

If I can support you in any of the topics, happy to offer my time and expertise!

In just one sentence, why do you want to become a growth mentor?

I like to give back and share my hard-earned learnings to help accelerate others who are building for impact. I have been mentoring and coaching for more than 5 years now, and it helps me to learn and grow myself through mentoring others.

In your words, what does a growth mindset mean to you?

Growth mindset to me is being curious about the world around me and myself. It is about continuously learning new things and having an attitude of “finding a way forward” in challenging situations. It is about always making progress, even if it sometimes means quitting, taking a few steps back, pausing, and changing directions.

If you could mentor a startup on one topic, what would it be?

Product Strategy obsessively focuses on what customer problem is being solved and how to measure success and failure.
Why? Because in my experience of building products for the last 10 years, I have realized the importance of a strong and coherent product strategy in moving the business needles, of measurable and actionable KPIs to decide when to move forward and when to quit and change directions without wasting resources on a failing idea. The ROI on your resources spent desperately depends on it.

Describe an out-of-the-box solution to a complex problem that made you proud of yourself.

Look into the data – qualitative or quantitative. Put yourself in the shoes of the users or use what you are building – nothing can beat first-hand observations. Keep segmenting the data and looking for the culprit until it all makes sense.
