What do I need to do before a session?
Short answer: no formal prep is required. You can show up to a session cold and still be useful. That said, a few small things make most calls go better:
- Read the mentee's request and context. When someone books, they tell you what they want help with. A quick skim before the call means you can skip the warm-up and get straight to their actual problem.
- Confirm the call tool and link. Make sure you both know where the session is happening (Zoom, Google Meet, whatever you agreed on) and that your camera and mic work.
- Double-check the time zone. Booking times show in your local zone, but it never hurts to confirm so nobody joins an hour off.
If you and the mentee agree to review their work or do something before or after the session, that is entirely between the two of you. GrowthMentor does not require it.
