How do #IRL events and City Squads work for mentors?
GrowthMentor isn't only a video call. A lot of the community happens in person, and as a mentor you're welcome at all of it.
#IRL events
#IRL is our in-person side: real meetups where members and mentors get together in cities around the world. They range from small casual get-togethers to bigger gatherings, and you can see what's coming up on the #IRL events page. Meeting someone face to face turns a profile into a person, and it's some of the best of GrowthMentor.
City Squads
A City Squad is your local corner of the community, the members and mentors based near you. You can find yours on the cities page. It's how you hear when something's happening in your city and connect with people you could actually grab a coffee with, not just a Zoom.
How to take part
Keep an eye out for #IRL events near you and come along. If there's energy in your city and you'd like to help bring people together, you can host or co-host one too. Either way, showing up in person is one of the fastest ways to build a reputation in the community.
Bottom line: #IRL is where the community gets real. Join your City Squad, show up when there's an event near you, and host one if you're up for it.
