How do the mentee and mentor connect?
When you request a call with a mentor, you choose the method you prefer based on what they have listed as available. If you both want to use something else entirely, just arrange that between yourselves.
Supported video call tools
We support a few platforms so you can use whatever you and your mentor are most comfortable with:
- GrowthMentor Video: our built-in video tool. No downloads required, just click the link when your session starts.
- Zoom: connect your Zoom account in settings and your personal meeting link is used automatically.
- Google Meet: if you prefer Google Meet, you can set it as your default in your profile settings.
How to set your preferred tool
- Go to Settings
- Navigate to the video call section
- Choose your preferred platform and connect your account if needed
Where to find the link once a session is accepted
Once the session is accepted, the meeting link and the mentor's communication details appear on the session page under the session details, and in your confirmation email. Click the link at the scheduled time to join.
It is always a good idea to have your session page open when a call is about to start, in case there are any last minute clarifications.
