Mentor onboarding, rebuilt inside GrowthMentor
From the first application to interview booking and profile drafting, the process now happens inside GrowthMentor.
Our old mentor onboarding started with a Typeform outside GrowthMentor. The application, interview, and profile setup were separate steps, making the whole process feel disjointed.
Applying to become a mentor, booking the interview, and getting a profile ready now happen inside GrowthMentor. We rebuilt the process so the information someone shares at each step can help with the next.
A good conversation tells us a lot about a future mentor. We wanted more of that detail to make it into the profile members read before booking a call.
Start with where you can help
The application asks about your background, the areas you can mentor on, and what you want to give and get from the community. It also explains our give-first approach, so you know what joining involves before you submit.
The questions come one step at a time, and your progress is saved so you can come back to it. We focus on the information our team needs to understand where you could help. Writing a polished profile can wait until we’ve had a conversation.
Know where you stand, and what comes next
After you apply, your dashboard shows your application’s progress. If our team invites you to a culture-fit call, you can choose an available time inside GrowthMentor. Once booked, the call details and the next action stay on your dashboard.
That gives you one place to return to throughout the process. The call is a chance to meet, talk about your experience, and find out whether mentoring here feels like a good fit. Our team still reviews applications and makes the acceptance decisions.
Your conversation becomes a head start on your profile
During the interview, you talk about the work you’ve done and the problems you can help someone solve. With your consent, the interview transcript and application answers inform an AI-generated first draft of your headline, introduction, and expertise descriptions.
You’ve already talked through your experience in the interview, so we use that conversation to give you a draft you can work with when you set up your profile.
You can change the wording, add context and keep working on the descriptions until they sound like you. A topic such as product marketing becomes more useful when members can also read about the positioning or launch work you’ve actually done.
For members, the aim is a clearer picture of who you’re considering for your next call: what they’ve worked on, where they can help, and what you could work through together. That starts with giving mentors a better way to tell their story.
