The Work
Tell us about what you are currently working on.
I am leading the Content department at Truely, a product ranking site that aims to bring truth back to the internet. I am also the founder of The IIT Hub, an internship service center in the Philippines with 1500+ intern applicants and 500+ intern graduates.
Before
Before you learned about GrowthMentor, how did you deal with the challenges you faced?
Before GrowthMentor, I'd always have to exhaust all my resources to learn new strategies that work and are already proven.
The Decision
What ultimately compelled you to sign up for GrowthMentor?
Our CEO shared this wonderful platform and Truely wanted to invest in us by giving us this amazing tool! An amazing company, right?
Inside the Platform
What's your favorite thing about GrowthMentor?
It's refreshing to have a place to go to every time I need to validate a new idea and book calls with mentors who have been on that boat. It's like a privileged class from experienced mentors!
What topics have you mostly discussed with mentors?
Almost all of it came back to content. How to scale and structure our content team as it grew, the no-code tools and automation to manage all our data, SEO and getting our pages to rank, and validating new ideas for our content pipeline before we committed to them. A few times I also just needed a fresh perspective on content operations.
The Breakthrough
Is there a specific session/mentor that stands out in your mind as super helpful?
Oh, this is hard, because honestly they all helped in different ways. But a few stuck with me. Barry Magennis was like an SEO angel. He walked me through every recommendation for ranking our content and made sure it actually made sense to me. Vahe Baghdasaryan gave me the one idea that was missing from how we were scaling the content team. And Felix Wong opened up a whole new set of no-code tools I hadn't considered.
The Transformation
How has GrowthMentor helped you?
I remember having a call with Daniel and he validated an idea of launching pages with 500-word content instead of generating 4000-word ones. We've applied that to scale and it's so much faster to launch pages with this approach since we only want to see which ones will have potential at first.
GrowthMentor has helped me learn new things so much easier and faster. It feels really nice that each session has a personal touch.
The Verdict
What three adjectives would you use to describe GrowthMentor?
