The Work
Tell us about what you are currently working on.
I'm head of marketing at BigleLegal, a startup based in Barcelona. I lead our marketing across content creation, promotion, and pricing strategy for the B2B SaaS market.
We're currently working through a pricing restructure to make our offering easier to understand and intuitive, while also keeping it profitable across our different verticals.
Before
Before you learned about GrowthMentor, how did you deal with the challenges you faced?
When I signed up I worked as the head of marketing at a startup called BigleLegal which is based in Barcelona. Barcelona is a city that has a lot of startups, but it's not a city where it's easy to network with people.
I always felt kind of left out and alone professionally in my work.
I've been searching for something like GrowthMentor for around 4-5 years by now and couldn't find it.
The Decision
What ultimately compelled you to sign up for GrowthMentor?
After 4-5 years of searching, finding GrowthMentor was a no-brainer. The promise of being connected to a community of like-minded professionals instead of feeling isolated was exactly what I had been looking for.
Inside the Platform
What's your favorite thing about GrowthMentor?
I really see the value in this community because instead of being isolated, you're actually connected to a community of like-minded people and are able to share your experiences and get real-time feedback on stuff you're working on.
You don't feel so alone on what you're doing and then you can actually even verify your ideas with somebody. Because sometimes you're like, "Yeah, that's a great idea!" but do you really know? Maybe it's not a great idea, or maybe it actually is a great idea, are you positive either way? This is actually the main reason why I really signed up for the platform.
What topics have you mostly discussed with mentors?
Content promotion (B2B SaaS), event marketing tactics, and most recently pricing strategy. We have at least three different verticals working with the same products, so the pricing needs to be homogenized but it's really difficult to do.
The Breakthrough
Is there a specific session/mentor that stands out in your mind as super helpful?
The first mentor I connected with was Carsten Pleiser. I was looking for somebody to help me out with a promotion. I felt like I was pretty good at content creation but not that good at promoting the content we create.
He actually gave us some really great actionable advice. He definitely has experience in that as his area is different, he works more in event marketing. But it didn't really matter. As long as it's B2B or SaaS specific, it's cross-industry relevant. He has also suggested some platforms I didn't know about where we could promote our content.
He was even nice enough to actually send me a Google Doc after we finished with all his recommendations. I was really surprised as you don't really expect that considering this was a free session as well.
The Transformation
How has GrowthMentor helped you?
It eliminated the professional isolation that comes with being a marketer at a startup in a city where networking isn't easy. Now when I face a tricky problem, I have a community I can verify ideas with and get cross-industry insight from.
Next, I'm using it to navigate our pricing restructure, since that's the kind of strategic problem I want multiple expert opinions on.
The Verdict
What three adjectives would you use to describe GrowthMentor?
