Bio

Do you struggle to understand what's really driving your conversions? Do you want help with action steps to boost them? Maybe you’ve worked with freelancers or agencies who promised you the world… and then failed... So you decided, “Hey, If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.” That led you to reading blogs and buying courses... And then trying to figure out UTM tags, cross-domain tracking, referral exclusions, tag management, syncing conversions to Facebook's conversions API (among others), etc. Maybe you learned something, but I bet you’d agree… All of that is a HUGE waste of your time. If you just want to see what's working best, so you can do more of it, let's talk. I first built a custom tracking and analytics platform for the world's #2 travel community back in 2005, as a software engineer. It wasn't pretty and I probably almost got fired for struggling to deliver it... but gee golly gosh, I learned gobs about what matters! These days, I'm a growth marketer who has to deliver results, so you're talking to a friend who feels your pain. P.S. While there's no guarantee to solve your challenges, I remember sitting in my crib as a baby, knowing math and writing were my future. Seriously. This work is my calling. It's fun to see how the numbers help us craft the right words. P.P.S. My passions: I love the whole-foods vegan lifestyle, emotional healing and personal growth work, helping people discover their gifts, finding patterns in financial markets and running experiments in dang near every part of my life. How about you?

Expertise

  • Conversion rate optimisation

I help people see their funnels from a higher view to not just optimize one step while messing up another. For example, boosting opt-in rates isn't always wise.

  • Data science

I'm not a true data scientist, with a grad degree in statistical data modeling. That said, if you want insights on leveling up your tracking and analytics, to see the numbers you care about, let's talk.

  • Growth marketing

I've tested so many strategies for growing both B2C and B2B businesses in various industries (especially education and tech). I have more experience on the B2C side but enough on the B2B end to offer insights and compare / contrast with selling to consumers.

  • Mindset coaching

As someone who used to have severe social anxiety, depression and low self esteem, I can help you see your gifts and what's most important in your biz. You can do this. I can help. Geez, I sound like a Home Depot commercial. Dork Depot. :-)

  • PPC strategies

I've spent 7 figures on ads for mostly high-ticket courses / coaching (yes, with a positive ROI). If that gets your heart pumping faster, you have issues. I'm joking. Feel free to ask for input on boosting your ROI from ads.

  • Technology and tools

As a former code-crazed engineer, bits and bytes and tools are natural to me. Let me know how my herd sourcery might help you boost your biz. Sometimes the right tech can save you hours or double your profits.

Toolkit

  • Meta Ads logo

    Meta Ads

I've spent 7 figures on Facebook ads, which also means I've dealt with all their crazy policies. And yep, I've had accounts and Business Managers disabled, like many others have, so I've learned how to adapt.

  • Google Analytics logo

    Google Analytics

I first got Google Analytics IQ certified in 2014 and have been helping companies set it up and tune it ever since. If you don't set up the tracking you want, you can't capture insights from before you do. So let's talk about what you need to track asap.

  • Google Tag Manager logo

    Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager is like a control panel for a website. I use it on almost every project to manage what code fires where and when... all in one place.

  • HubSpot logo

    HubSpot

I use HubSpot in my full-time marketing work, so I've learned a ton about it. I use the workflows, emails, lists and reporting the most. Of course, nobody knows everything.

Industries

  • Advertising

My expertise is in tracking and analyzing advertising campaigns to find out what's really working to drive conversions. It's not easy and depends how one ties results back to sources (attribution).

Dorky Nerdy Courses & Coaching Growth Marketer

Do you sell business courses or coaching? Have you struggled to make money from paid traffic? Wish you could find someone you trust to take paid traffic and tracking off your plate? I know you’ve probably worked with many freelancers or agencies who promised you the world… and then failed... so you decided, “Hey, If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.” That led you to reading blogs and buying courses... and then trying to figure out UTM tags, cross-domain tracking, referral exclusions, video production, paid traffic algorithms and more. Maybe you learned something, but I bet you’d agree… all of that is a HUGE waste of your time. Your profits come from actions like networking, doing sales calls and closing new clients, right? So, you just need a trustworthy “nerd” who can handle your paid traffic and tracking for you. And that’s me. My name is Sunni Sukumar, and I’ve been a Big Giant Geek Nerd since birth. I remember being a baby in my crib and wanting to learn math. (Seriously.) • Being Sober Network

Dorky Nerdy Cofounder / Marketing Manager

Being Sober Network was meant to be an online / offline network of addiction treatment providers and service seekers (alcoholics, drug addicts and their families) looking for trustworthy help. The first chapter in the network was to be in Orange County, California, where we planned to have in-person meetings to bring together addicts and treatment professionals. Combined with our online membership, the goal for the local chapter was to create a true social network where people come to know and support each other in satisfying sobriety. We wanted to offer new and non-competing additions to traditional treatment to improve outcomes. To support the providers, we worked on a book called Is Being Sober A Bunch of BS?, published by Advantage Media | Forbes Books -- with Dan Sanfellipo (who spent ~25 years behind bars because of his addictions), Joe Sanfellipo (Dan's dad and our founder), and Karen VanDenBerg (who runs Recovery Illustrated Magazine). Targeted at supporters, the book was meant to be the first in a series based on the real-world reasons the tiny percentage of people who stay sober are successful. Like the sobriety journey, it was broken into 3 parts: 1. Becoming Sober -- What's required with mindset and actions to finally get sober 2. Being Sober -- What you have to do to stay sober 3. Beyond Sober -- How alcoholics and drug addicts can truly craft their lives into whatever they want

  • Compass Education Group

Dorky Nerdy Private Math / Science Instructor (Tutor)

Compass is one of the top test prep companies in California, which lets me work with students committed to boosting their scores. I specialize in the Math / Science sections of the ACT and the Math section on the SAT. The students range from high-performers who crave even higher scores to students struggling with the whole test prep thing. I especially like working with students wracked with anxiety, since that was me back in high school. Every student who works with me gets more than test prep. They get clarity about habits holding them back, strategies they can use to learn anything far faster and easier, plus perspective on their life paths Empathy and personalizing the prep approach for various personality types and situations have been priceless practice.

  • Creative Intelligence Marketing, LLC

Dorky Nerdy Product Launch Strategist / Manager / Copywriter

As a trusted advisor to founder / CEO, Andrew Zirkin, I first helped him blend his best social media techniques with his best search engine knowledge into a unique selling proposition (USP). The result was his Social Wealth Formula group mentoring program – the first ever support system teaching speakers, authors, coaches and online info marketers how to “Get Found. Get Connected. Get Business.” quickly with Social Search. To launch the program, I helped source and co-manage a virtual team of technology vendors, designers, lawyers, video production and editing staff, content editors, and copywriters. As a main copywriter myself, I crafted squeeze pages (setting up split tests between them), video scripts, drip email sequences, sales page sections, pitch letters to large potential affiliate partners, affiliate “swipe” emails they could tailor for their audiences, and emails to keep affiliates motivated to mail.

  • Frontier Trainings

Dorky Nerdy Systems Director & Copywriter

From building an online registration process and an auto-sending pre-training drip email sequence to creating a one-click custom graduation certificate template and standardizing sales forms, it was a pretty "full buffet" role – demanding a good mix of tech, marketing, and just plain people savvy. I also stepped up as the team's go-to copywriter, writing persuasive pre-training emails and other value-packed teaser content, welcome letters and debriefs for the training manuals, plus a whole library of story-based distinctions to train new trainers.

  • Christopher Howard Training

    Dorky Nerdy I.T. Manager

I blueprinted tech strategy to produce and scale trainings. At the trainings, I managed several crew members to run real-time registration, name-tag printing, doorway re-attendance scanning, and even point-of-sale stations to handle 100s of people stampeding to the back of the room, buying everything from books to bootcamps. In the office, I was the main liaison to an enterprise software vendor (whose platform we used to run every aspect of our business). I also sent out email blasts to keep customers informed of upcoming workshops, and I worked with super-affiliates to make sure they were taken care of to keep driving volume sales. All of that was on top of providing full day-to-day I.T. support.

  • VirtualTourist.com

Dorky Nerdy Software Engineer / Web Analytics Nerd

Supported VT's rapid growth by designing, programming and evolving a web log analytics system to process, aggregate and query hundreds of millions of records for senior management decision support across the website (Google Analytics wasn't mainstream at the time). Over time, I also became a main developer of core website features. Tools used: Java, MySQL, Apache, Perl, Bash, Excel

  • RedPouch.com

    Dorky Nerdy Cofounder, CTO

On the tech side, I architected both the customer-facing website and a web-based jewelry inventory system to manage many styles and sizes of each item. With this foundation, I worked on a male-targeted gift-buying marketing campaign on college campuses to bootstrap the business. I also helped design custom-branded product packaging for it. RedPouch offers premium 14K+ jewelry with a wide selection of both designs and sizes -- all at everyday low prices.

  • eNexus.net

    Dorky Nerdy Cofounder, CTO

eNexus.net was to be a real-time electronic marketplace for small- and medium-sized businesses in fragmented manufactured goods industries worldwide, offering services from vendor discovery to contract negotiation and transaction management for one low subscription cost. This model was to level the playing field for smaller companies by automating much of the tedium of global commerce. [We prototyped it, but it didn't receive funding due to the "Dot Com" bubble burst.]
