Most app growth problems are diagnosis problems. Teams keep buying more tactics when they can't see what's actually broken underneath. I've worked in mobile growth since 2013, first at Wooga, Zalando, and Coup, then independently. I run paid user acquisition for subscription apps and mobile games, and I spend most of my time finding the real reason the numbers won't move. When I open an account, I start with three things: where your budget lands across your ad sets, what your tracking reports back, and whether your creative gets tested or just churned out. Most of the damage hides in one of those. I've worked on apps that scaled to millions in revenue. I've also worked on plenty that shut down. I can usually tell early which way an app is heading, and what to change while there's still room to change it. Bring your ad account to the session.
