I’ve been building things for 13 years. I went out on my own and started out with copywriting, learning how to actually move the needle with words. This led me to strategy and building my own service and product businesses, where I've spent a decade as a fractional CMO and founder. Really though, I'm a growth systems guy who spends his time findingwhere systems are broken and build the engines to fix them. I’m not interested in "innovation" for the sake of it. I’m interested in removing friction. I look for the parts of an industry that are stagnant, messy, or just plain stuck because everyone is following legacy rules that don't work anymore. Then I build the digital systems to liquidate that friction. Current focus is two fold. 1. Addressing the issue with UK "ghost homes". Right now, I’m applying that DNA to the housing crisis. There are over 700,000 empty homes in this country sitting around while people struggle for housing. It’s a massive, high-friction problem caused by bad data and outdated thinking. I'm building something to help us get these properties moving again. 2. China <> UK opportunities. I spent 4 years living between Hong Kong and China. At one point, I was pretty fluent in Chinese (which is now very rusty). I believe there's great potential here for many UK and Chinese businesses to prosper together. Not sure what that looks like, but right now I'm doing preliminary research to find the sticking points and figure out how I might be able to help grease the processes. If you’re into systems over hype, we’ll probably get along. Reach out if you want to talk about property, friction, China <> UK business, or building things that actually work.
