Expertise

  • Building a team

During my career I have built the data function from scratch in 3 different tech companies. Each case had it own specifics: SaaS and PaaS, office based and remote, same country and multiple time zones

  • Data science

I have been working with data one way or another during the last 15 years. I call my self a data professional but I always focus on the decision making and how data can help stakeholders or systems to make the right decision. Sometimes just getting the data straight is good enough (not that it is easy) and most of the times a pivot table with the right data would do the trick. Not all the times though :)

  • Product analytics

How the product is being used? What are the different user segments? How are these different when it comes to loyalty, monetisation and overall value? Which ones are the price sensitive? Some of the questions that I or my team as been dealing with in the past 10 years or so

  • Remote work

Remote work is ... not for everyone. Actually, not everyone is up for remote. I have been leading a team of 18 people in different time zones and I have hit several walls of the remote working setup to know a thing or two...

Toolkit

  • Looker Studio (Google Data Studio) logo

    Looker Studio (Google Data Studio)

I have been using Google Data Studio - and Google cloud more broadly the last 5 years and have set the full reporting infrastructure in 2 different companies

  • MySQL logo

    MySQL

well... I have been using SQL - in various permutations - for almost 20 years (ouch)... I have worked with perfect 10s in SQL so I know that I am not a 10 but I have hit almost all the walls there is to hit

I joined Hotjar right after the acquisition by Contentsquare to level up the BI, Data Engineering and Data Science functions, managing remotely a team that peaked at 18 members.

  • GWI

    Head Of Business Intelligence

During the initial interview for a Data Science position in GWI, I identified a gap and I pitched the vision for the Business Intelligence team and the value that it could bring to the company. I then joined GWI as the first hire in the newly established Greek office in Athens (well, 2nd hire as the first was the recruiter). I worked on building the whole (dream) team and infrastructure from scratch and focused heavily on commercial data architecture and data governance to ensure we all speak the same (data) language. Particularly proud of the team we assembled and the domains we cover within the company globally, as well as the range of services we provided to the UK and US offices. I was heavily engaged in growing the Greek office, especially in the early days, and occasionally worked on internal side projects like the TV-RF solution and usage reporting for "big" clients.
