Bio

I've been an entrepreneur for the past five years, based in Copenhagen. As CEO, I built and scaled an international, high-growth consumer business, mainly e-commerce but also retail and Amazon. It has done more than €50 million in total sales, reaching around €15 million in annual revenue within five years. As CEO I had my hands in everything, but three areas took most of my time. The first was fundraising: we raised around €9 million. The second was the strategic side of capitalising a company, meaning how to build a venture-scale business and the trade-offs that come with venture funding compared with bootstrapping. The third was growth marketing in consumer - Meta, Google, creatives and everything in-between. I've also learned a lot about leading a team: hiring, restructuring and the hard conversations, including the times I didn't act fast enough. I've moved from CEO to shareholder, so I have more time to share what I've learned, from the things that worked and the things that definitely didn't. Some of what I say will be very specific to my situation. I hope the rest gives you a few useful nuggets that help you avoid some mistakes or move faster than you would have on your own. I enjoy good conversations, being challenged by problems, and staying sharp by helping people think through difficult decisions.

Expertise

  • Advice on funding

I spent a lot of my time as CEO on fundraising and raised around €9 million over five years, which is a significant amount in the Nordics. My advice is to build relationships, be human and approachable, and plan ahead rather than blasting out hundreds of cold calls. Sometimes I'll also ask whether you should raise at all, because that can be the mistake.

  • Bootstrapping

Building with venture money and building bootstrapped are very different worlds. You always want the healthiest business you can build, but each path forces different trade-offs. I help founders work out which path fits their business, and avoid simply following what people on the internet say they must do.

  • Growth marketing

I ran growth for a consumer e-commerce brand that grew to around €15 million in annual revenue within five years, across our own webshop, retail and Amazon. I like working through the unit economics with founders: how to think about CAC and LTV, how far to plan ahead, and whether it is OK to lose money in the first few months.

  • PPC strategies

Last year we spent around €6 million on Meta and Google ads and ran a lot of creatives. I can help you think through how to run and test creatives at that volume, how to keep acquisition costs under control as you scale spend, and what payback you can live with in the early months.

  • Leadership

As CEO of a fast-growing startup I learned leadership through both what worked and what didn't. I help founders with the hard parts: difficult conversations, people who aren't adding to the culture, and making decisions with grace when you feel like you are failing as a leader. Sometimes you just need simple, honest feedback from someone outside the situation.

  • Building a team

I hired and scaled a team through five years of fast growth and went through a couple of restructures. In some cases I didn't let people go fast enough. In a small team, one wrong person costs far more time than they add. I help founders act early, and handle the tough calls in the best possible way.

Toolkit

  • Meta Ads logo

    Meta Ads

Meta was one of our two main paid channels. Together with Google we spent around €6 million last year, running a large volume of creatives to drive consumer e-commerce growth, so I can talk through creative testing and scaling spend.

  • Google Ads logo

    Google Ads

Google Ads was our other main paid acquisition channel, alongside Meta, with combined spend of around €6 million last year. I can help you think about where it fits in a consumer growth mix and how it affects your acquisition costs.

  • Amazon Ads logo

    Amazon Ads

Alongside our own e-commerce and retail channels, we did a lot of business on Amazon. I can share how it fit next to direct-to-consumer and retail as we scaled an international consumer brand.
