I get it. You're stressed out and need someone to talk to. That's actually the #1 reason why I created Growthmentor.io in the first place. I had way too much going on, and nobody really to share it with that could 100% understand what I was going through. If you're bothered by anything growth related, feel free to reach out.

Learning or building anything can be frustrating at the beginning, but understanding that that is part of the process, being patience, putting in the work and ideally enjoying the process puts you ahead of 95% of people that are too intimated by those exact points and never start.

Something I wish I did more of when growing my business, was bounce ideas off other people with experience. I've mentored and advised dozens of entrepreneurs and startups about general business advise and direction. Sometimes, a fresh unbiased perspective is what it takes to get past any current hurdles and continue on your path to growth. I grew a company with no tech-knowledge, and no experience into a successful, turnkey SaaS. Believe me, I've been through it.

Tell me all your problems, let me listen and let's take them one by one to see what we can do about them. I've dropped out of college and moved to another country to start a startup - I've had 100s of fights with my parents about the college, startup life and why I'm risking everything to do this - it was really hard.

Having spent many years coaching individuals, I know life in general can become frustrating. I offer 5 min of venting and the rest of the time will be focused on getting to the crux of what's going on. The feeling "behind the feeling". It's laser like and cuts to the heart of the matter. The ego sometimes like hearing it, but it'll make you a better leader, hence having a rippling effect throughout your organization.

Getting your emotions out is probably one of the most important and one of the most undervalued needs of entrepreneurs. Come vent to me and I'll be your active listener: one who's also been there. Take the emotional weight off your shoulders so you can get back to business.

We all need to vent to someone. We need them not only to listen and understand us, but to know when and how they can push us to get over it to learn and be better. I won't know you personally but my intention will be to give you the advice I've gotten in many situations in life from family, friends, and my own mentors.

When starting a business, some mountains will seem impossible to climb, some days will be dark, and some things will inevitably go wrong. When they do, you as the leader, need to continue to show confidence and conviction to everyone around you, including your team and investors. But who can you talk to? As a coach, about half my time is spent with founders listening, being a sounding board, and helping to think through tough issues. I will be there for you when you need it the most.

Why vent your frustration to a startup mentor?

Being an entrepreneur is stressful as hell. Everything is on you and you alone. What if things go wrong?!?! . Ahhh! You can drive yourself crazy with the fears that come along with owning your own business.

Perhaps nobody in your family or social circle can relate to these stressors so you keep the stress bottled up inside. It is great to have someone to speak to about what you are going through who can relate. Someone who has been through it and has experienced the pressure of startup stress.

Book a call with a growth mentor and get it all off your chest.

Popular Use Cases for Your Inspiration

If you're a solo founder and are lonely without anyone to talk to about your business issues

Being a solo founder means that you’re out there on your own carrying the weight of your business on your shoulders. Not having a community of people you can talk to about your challenges can get pretty lonely and it’s not always easy to find people who can relate to your journey and understand the toll it takes.

Talking out your frustrations with someone who’s been there and knows the struggle can do a lot to help you focus on the big picture and let you know that you’re on the right path.

If big expectations are placed on you but you feel there's little chances of them being met

The high expectations of your startup’s stakeholders can leave you feeling uncertain that you’ll be able to make them happen and that can be daunting.

Talking it out with a seasoned startup mentor will help you understand which expectations are realistic and which need to be managed, saving you the stress that comes with uncertainty and self-doubt.

If you're approaching burnout and want to talk to someone who's been there before

When you’re getting close to burnout, the people who will fully understand what you are going through are the ones that have been there before. Vent some of that frustration and find a way to realign your focus by talking to people who have shared your journey and have some tips for de-stressing without feeling like you’re slacking on your responsibilities.

If startup stress is hurting your relationship with your significant other

Taking your work stress home is a sure-fire way to put a strain on your personal relationships and most of all your relationship with your partner and family.

By unloading your startup stress before you leave the office you can focus on what you should be doing with your friends and family - getting energized and motivated to do what you need to for the people you love.

If you tried everything but still aren't getting the results you want

Nobody likes banging their heads against the wall trying to get results. Most of the time all that’s needed is a fresh perspective and the insight that comes with years of experience.

Talking to a growth mentor gives you the opportunity to reevaluate your strategies with someone that understands the struggle and has probably dealt with similar problems. A qualified fresh perspective, just when you needed it.

If you are developing unhealthy habits due to your "hustling"

It’s easy for your focus on work to take precedent over your focus on your mind and body. Time management is easy to say, but “Work FOMO” is real and a lot of people think they’re saving time by eating take-out and skipping workouts.

The reality is taking care of yourself will pay dividends in giving you the energy and clarity of mind to ultimately increase your productivity. Talk to people who are just as busy as you and have found ways to “hack” their work-life balance to include self-care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I talk to a growth mentor about anything I want?

Yep. Talk about whatever you want. You might start the chat talking about your general situation then spend a few minutes to discuss what sort of help you're looking for. We think conversations are more meaningful and effective if they're kept casual. There are no "rules." Just be comfortable and try and have some fun!

Do I have to prepare for the call in advance?

Great question. No, you don't have to, but the better prepared you are the more value you'll get out of the calls. Try and be ready with the talking points you want to go over before the call.
